april 2025: spreads for all

hello, friends. our new tarot spreads for this month are all geared towards helping you listen to your body, honor your spirit, and trust your heart. i know that the news is full of awful things, that there is so much fear and uncertainty in the air, that it's very easy to panic and doomscroll and surrender to helplessness — but i also know that we are stronger together, that there are so many people doing incredible things, that more folks every day are standing up and joining in to help fight back against fascism.

if you've been afraid to act, uncertain of where you fit, reluctant to take a chance, or too overwhelmed to make a move, i hope these spreads help to provide encouragement, courage, clarity, and support. and if the actions over this past weekend have encouraged you to get more involved and more connected, i urge you to honor that urge in whatever ways you can.

it will take all of us to make real, lasting change. grab your cards, and let's see what they have to offer.

first is a care and keeping spread, inspired by a recent instagram post that came across my feed. these can be interpreted as daily practices, weekly intentions, monthly investments, or whatever else works for you.

CARE & KEEPING: a tarot spread for taking care of yourself with consistency. create / consume / cavort / commune

card one: create / something you can bring to life. what can you make? what can you do with your hands? how can you use your skills or abilities to create something new?
card two: consume / something to discover and enjoy. what can you devour? what would satisfy you? what can bring you pleasure or joy?
card three: cavort / something to do with or for your body. how can you move? what can you reach for? what can you do to take care of your physical self?
card four: commune / a way to connect with others. who can you reach out to? how can you share with others? what can you do with someone you care about?

next is a spread inspired by chappell roan's song the giver, an anthem for hard workers (and tops) everywhere. it's catchy, it's sexy, and it's a great framework for showing up and out, in the way that only you can.

THE GIVER: a tarot spread for knowing what you have to offer, inspired by chappell roan's "the giver." it's just in my nature / ain't no need to hurry / i get the job done

card one: it's just in my nature / you're great at this. what do you already know how to do well?
card two: ain't no need to hurry / be patient with this. what is worth doing well, even if it takes some extra time?
card three: i get the job done / a short-term goal. what can you focus on accomplishing right now?

and finally, a simple two-card spread for finding a spark of hope. it's so easy to get lost in the bad news and feelings of helplessness. and while i don't believe that hope is a requirement for action, i do believe that nourishing hope can be a daily practice that makes it a little easier to keep going.

A SPARK OF HOPE: a tarot spread for finding a bit of hope to tend. something to notice / something to celebrate

card one: something to notice. what do you see, hear, taste, touch, smell? what is a real thing in your world right now, that you can find joy or pleasure in? what have you perhaps been overlooking, that is worth noticing?
card two: something to celebrate. what is a victory you can honor, big or small? what are you perhaps minimizing or downplaying, that is worthy of attention? what can you take a few moments to recognize?
