the grove: six months of collective creative devotion

dear friend,

god, this world can be exhausting. there are so many demands on our time, so many catastrophes and breaking news alerts to pay attention to, so many worries over what the present and future might hold. it's all really valid, really real, and really heavy to carry.

if you're like me, creative and spiritual practices, along with generous, reciprocal community, are about the only things that are helping you stay together these days. from writing and photography and singing along to hayley williams (seriously, this album has been in my head rent-free since the day it came out, with no signs of stopping), to tarot pulls and rituals and research, to having coffee with mercury in the mornings, to building worlds and sharing magic with friends, creativity and spirituality are constantly reminding me of what i'm living for, what i'm holding tightly to.

but burnout is real, and imposter syndrome is exhausting, and feeling alone with your projects and deadlines and frustrations and uncertainties can make both creative and spiritual practices feel impossible to stick with.

it's with this in mind that my wife jeanna kadlec and i launched the grove in early 2025 — and it's with the clarity of how life-changing this container has been that we open the doors to our fourth cohort, beginning on september 1st.

this space isn't about productivity, or organization, or strict expectations — there are enough tools like that in the world, enough brilliant resources to help you whip your WIP into shape or recommit to specific goals or work towards a book deal. the grove instead is about coming alive again.

this is about reconnecting with the parts of you that have gotten small and scared, and letting them take up real space in your life, in a real way.

and this is about using your magic, your spiritual tools, your rituals and spells, to do it — alongside a warm, generous, reciprocal community full of people who are just as devoted to spirituality and creative practice as you are.

we want to offer you a chance to reconnect with your creativity in community, with gentleness and compassion, and without pressure or guilt. we want to help you rebuild your relationship with your creativity. and we want to witness you and celebrate you, to share in your magic, to encourage you to keep going.

past and current participants have called the grove life-changing, amazing, supportive, grounding, expansive, and essential. people join us again and again, and the intimacy and care that we've found with each other has changed jeanna and my lives, too. if you're ready to be part of an incredible community of artists, dreamers, seekers, grievers, and witches who share your values, the grove is for you.

from september to february, month by month, you’ll:

  • renew your relationship with your own creative spirit and with the ongoing practices that support you
  • expand your own capacity for imagination
  • ground more deeply into spiritual tools and rituals
  • connect with other artists who share your values
  • come alive again — through your art, and through your magic

this is the grove, and you're invited.
