october 2025 spreads for all

spreads for all

hello, dear friends. this eclipse season has been so intense, and the news has been so tough, and yet we keep fighting, keep showing up, keep taking care of each other. i know it's hard — and i hope these tarot spreads can help you navigate this month with some additional support and care.

this is my favorite time of year, especially as someone who grew up in the northeast: the crispy air and crunchy leaves and cozy vibes are so delicious. and in spite of the fact that it's still 80 degrees in nyc, because autumn doesn't actually start until november these days, we're still going to pretend (damn it).

it's also time for my annual reader survey, which is wild. i would love to hear what you enjoy about my work, what would support you these days, and ways that you might like to work with me. your answers are anonymous and every question is optional, but any insights you can give me are incredibly helpful. thank you in advance!

in the midst of rebellion and disobedience and building new things, we've gotta find joy where we can. and i hope these silly, simple new two-card tarot spreads can help you face this season, and also The Horrors, with strength, courage, and pluck. you've got this.

our first tarot spread is about fear. and i know that probably doesn't sound fun, but stick with me: in a time when everything is framed in the scariest way possible, when so many of us are having multiple traumas triggered simultaneously, when institutions are relying on us to be so lost in horror that we can't act, it's very important to acknowledge which fears are driving us — both known and unknown. naming a fear can help to alleviate some of its power, and also can help us move through it in a way that helps us keep going.

fear isn't bad — but it can leave us paralyzed, numb, or make us refuse to do something. i want you to be as brave and strong as i know you can be, and that process starts right here.

spooky scary: a tarot spread for acknowledging your fears. a thing you know you're afraid of / a thing you don't realize you're afraid of

spooky scary: a tarot spread for acknowledging your fears. what scares you? what does it mean to acknowledge the things that scare you? how does recognizing your fear release a little bit of that fear's power over you?

card one / a thing you know you're afraid of: what are you already aware of when it comes to fear, terror, horror? which fear do you already know exists?
card two / a thing you don't realize you're afraid of: what is something that scares you more than you're aware of? what fear might be driving you or impacting you in ways you don't even realize?

now that we've acknowledged our fear, we can look to our magic. no matter who you are or how you see yourself, you have some kind of gift — yes, you. rather than getting caught up in the comparison game or denying that you have any agency at all, this spread is going to simply name your gift, and then help you figure out how to use it ASAP.

everyone has skills. what are yours?

hocus pocus: a tarot spread for acknowledging your magic. a magical gift that you possess / a way to use that gift right now

hocus pocus: a tarot spread for acknowledging your magic. what are you great at, that makes you special and powerful? how could you put that gift into action right this minute?

card one / a magical gift that you possess: what's something that you already have access to, something that's already at your fingertips? what's a tool that's already in your toolbox? what are you great at?
card two / a way to use that gift right now: how can you apply that gift to your real life, right now? how can this gift be supportive, encouraging, stimulating? how can you use this gift to help yourself, or your community?

we're getting hit with non-stop nightmare news day in and day out, which means it's important to remember the good things that are happening too — the protests, the resistances, the progress. on a collective level, it's an essential reminder that we are not alone, that this is not normal, that plenty of people are fighting back.

and in a world where it feels like nothing is ever enough, this next spread was designed to help you fully acknowledge what you're already doing, instead of downplaying or dismissing the work you're doing.

practical magic: a tarot spread for acknowledging your daily efforts. something powerful you're already doing / a tangible impact you're already having

practical magic: a tarot spread for acknowledging your daily efforts. what are you up to, and how is it making a difference? what have you been committed to doing, and what impact is it having on your, your loved ones, your community?

card one / something powerful you're already doing: what have you been doing in your life, your work, your creative expressions, your relationships? what is a powerful action or choice that you've been engaging in?
card two / a tangible impact you're already having: how is this action accomplishing something? what effect is the work you're doing having on your world, your neighborhood, your people, you?

and lastly, we've gotta honor your strength. it's not easy to be standing here, working and watching, trying to stay rested enough to keep resisting. it's not easy to keep pushing, especially if we feel like we're alone (we're not). you're a survivor, and that survival has taught you something. this spread can help you remember, so that you can keep going with pride, resilience, and courage.

final girl (gender neutral): a tarot spread for acknowledging your persistence. something you've survived in the past / a way your survival has strengthened you

final girl (gender neutral): a tarot spread for acknowledging your persistence. what have you endured, pushed through, survived, triumphed over? they say what doesn't kill you makes you stronger — how are you strong, right now?

card one / something you've survived in the past: what have you made it through? which challenges have you faced in your own history? which part of your story required you to fight?
card two / a way your survival has strengthened you: what have you gained from making it through these challenges? what is strong, fierce, resilient about you? what is a strength that you can continue to rely on in the days ahead?
