november 2025: spreads for all
hello, friends. before i share this month's new tarot spreads with you, this email is also the last call for my final tarot study container of 2025! styx & stones is a gentle introduction to grief work, using the tarot as our guide, and begins on sunday november 9th in a private corner of my discord server. click the button below to sign up, and don't forget that paid subscribers of this very newsletter can get a discount!
our first tarot spread for this month is on slowing down. i know it might feel like there are endless calls for action and change, endless tasks to complete, endless movements that require your attention and engagement — and, frankly, there absolutely are. but no matter how incredible and devoted you are, you still can't do all of it, and rushing to try and take on too much is a fast track to burnout. this spread can help you check in with yourself if you're trying to do too much too quickly, and help you find some practical ways to give yourself a break.

card one / an area where you're moving too fast: a part of your life where you're rushing; an area where speed is not benefiting you
card two / an action to pause: something you're doing that can use some air; a choice or movement or area of focus that would benefit from a break
card three / advice on taking a real break: something you can do that will make stepping back or slowing down a little easier
next i want to share this spread on rotting, which i'm calling just let it rot. saying goodbye to something that you love or loved is a painful and complex experience — but there can also be relief in acknowledging that something has already left us or ended. this spread can help you gently begin the process of release.

card one / something that is already gone: a dream, relationship, ambition, idea, belief, or part of self that has ended or left
card two / a way to let it go for good: a ritual, celebration, acknowledgement, or choice that will help you say a real goodbye
if you've never dipped your toes into grief work before, this is a great tarot spread to start with. meeting your grief might feel scary, but when we start to identify its shape, the way it shows up, and the insights it has to offer, we can start to befriend our grief rather than fearing it.

card one / the shape your grief is taking right now: what your grief looks and feels like; the part of your life that might be impacted by grief; your current understanding or experience of grief
card two / the way your grief is showing up right now: how your grief is expressing itself; the actions or inactions that are being driven by your grief
card three / something your grief wants you to know: a truth, gift, observation, insight, or piece of advice that your grief has to offer; something your grief wants to communicate
grief lives hand in hand with hope, so our final spread is focused on finding your hope. i don't think that hope is mandatory for taking action — but i also think that making intentional space for hope to emerge is one of the kindest things that we can do for ourselves and for the people around us. where does your hope live?

card one / what you understand hope to be: your definition of hope; the way that you think about or recognize hope as a concept
card two / where in your life your hope lives: a part of your life, experience, identity, or community that hope lives; something in your world that represents hope to you
card three: / something that feeds your hope: an action, choice, movement, or belief that keeps your hope alive; something that nourishes and nurtures hope within you
sending you tenderness, compassion, hope, grit, and a willingness to stay the course, friends.
