november 2024 spreads for all

november 2024 spreads for all

hello, friends. this month has made very little sense to me, time-wise. between the united states election results, planning a pre-inauguration elopement and honeymoon, and dealing with a truly silly amount of chronic pain this past week, november has simultaneously been crawling along and slipped right through my fingers.

but: i've been so endlessly inspired and motivated by the activists, organizers, healers, and teachers that i follow online, particularly liberation facilitator and content creator kristianna smith. i wrote about their four-part liberation guidance last week, and for our spreads this month, decided to create a new tarot layout for support around each step. to follow kristianna's work, subscribe to their patreon and download a free zine on this framework here.

as ever, thank you for being here. if you share your readings using any of these spreads on social media, please tag me and also shout out kristianna for the inspiration.

card one: an emotion to acknowledge. card two: a way to let your grief take up space. card three: a gift or reminder that your grief has to offer.

step one: grieve. give your feelings room to breathe, acknowledge how you feel, and don't try to rush through this essential first step. this spread can make space for recognizing your heavy emotions, and listening to what they might have to offer. (if you want more support for this step, i have a whole page of grief resources, including a popular journaling workbook that aligns beautifully with this spread.)

card one: an emotion to acknowledge. how do you feel? what have you been trying not to feel, or alternatively, what have you been drowning in?
card two: a way to let your grief take up space. how can you give your grief an outlet or a way to express itself?
card three: a gift or reminder that your grief has to offer. what can your grief teach you or reveal to you?

card one: a physical resource. card two: an emotional resource. card three: a spiritual resource.

step two: ground. check in with your heart and body, remember what supports you on a daily basis, and don't be afraid to recognize the resources that you already have at your disposal. you likely have access to more than you realize, and this spread will help you identify three of them. (we'll be doing this kind of daily check-in work throughout december in my upcoming remember your strength card container!)

card one: a physical resource. what do you have that's tangible?
card two: an emotional resource. what do you have that's intuitive?
card three: a spiritual resource. what do you have that's connective?

card one: something beautiful to acknowledge. card two: something magical to celebrate. card three: something possible to believe in.

step three: imagine. give yourself space to dream and imagine, to name what kind of world you want to see and what you want to accomplish, to hold space for magic and beauty and possibility. (if this particular step is a challenge for you, i highly recommend working with a tarot archetype like the magician, the empress, the chariot, or the star. check out archetype medicine, magician's lens through the conservatory, or my recent CARD TALK episode on the topic.)

card one: something beautiful to acknowledge. what lovely thing is already taking up space in your world?
card two: something magical to celebrate. what magical idea or vision is giving you hope for the future?
card three: something possible to believe in. what potential or opportunity can offer you a place to begin?

card one: something to do on my own. card two: something to do with a friend. card three: something to do alongside community.

step four: strategize. taking action, on your own and with others, is one of the best antidotes to feelings of helplessness and hopelessness. utilize those resources, hold space for both grief and hope, and commit to both short-term and long-term actions. (if you want something to motivate you in your actions, i'm running a six-week journaling series beginning in january that can help you consider how you want to show up in 2025.)

card one: something to do on my own. how can you show up or take action?
card two: something to do with a friend. what can you offer or begin in tandem with someone else?
card three: something to do alongside community. how can you show up in a group action or longer-term, community initiative?

it's my sincere hope that these free offerings, along with resources for purchase offered at a discounted rate, will help support you in the coming weeks, months, and years. more soon!
