last call for the grove — and some new tarot spreads too

today, make something weird. drink some water. take your meds. and keep going, even if it's slow.
the grove

hello, friends. with march 1st around the corner (i know, what the literal fuck) i wanted to send you a final reminder that our third cohort of the grove begins very soon, and the deadline to sign up is tomorrow.

if you're not interested in the grove, don't worry — i'm including some new tarot spreads on creativity for you to play with at the bottom of this message. if you're on the fence, read on for answers to some frequent questions and reminders about what the grove is and who it's for.

and for everyone: thank you for being here, and for supporting my work. the news for trans people is deeply horrific here in the united states (if you have some extra funds, join me in donating to the trans continental pipeline here), and i know i'm not alone in the deep wells of grief right now. i'm a queer, trans / nonbinary, chronically ill small business owner and it's not always easy to keep going and be visible and stay brave — but having y'all here reading these words and being part of my communities and supporting my work reminds me of all that we're fighting for: courage and curiosity and creativity, magic and art and beauty, joy and passion and pleasure, community and care and showing up for our neighbors and fighting fascism and working towards better futures for all of us.

today, make something weird. text someone that you're thinking of them. donate to a cause you care about. pull some cards for yourself or a loved one. light a candle of protection for marginalized and oppressed peoples. sign up to volunteer somewhere. drink some water. take your meds. let yourself grieve. and keep going, even if it's slow.

we're stronger together. i'm with you.

so what is the grove, anyway?

the grove is a six-month community container for intentional creative devotion: a place where you can reignite inspiration, expand your capacity for creation, and find joy in your art again, alongside fellow artists and supportive witches who share your values.

this is a space that encourages you to come alive in your creativity again, and is designed for artists of all ages, mediums, spiritual practices, and experience levels. you do not need to be a professional or published artist, or have dreams of ever sharing your work, in order to participate.

“This space/community is a good antidote to the despair I feel about a lot of things in the world at the moment. There are bigger horrors of course, but what hits closest to home is how AI is embraced by so many, even by a lot of teachers where I work. I feel like a lot of values I thought was shared more broadly suddenly turns out to be easily sacrificed to greed or ease, so I really value the creativity and explorations shared in this group.” — Thea

how does it work? what do we do together?

every month is organized around a different theme. within that theme, we will have check-ins that you can opt into every week:
-a live beginning-of-month kickoff where we introduce our theme, offer tools for engagement, and make space for discussion and connection
-one live, mid-month check-in call for conversation & coming back to center
-one recorded conversation between jeanna and meg, which may also include suggested spells or tarot spreads, to be explored on your own time, at your own leisure
-a private discord community/server, moderated by us, open 24/7

our live sessions are juicy and generative, filled with journaling prompts, questions to explore, and opportunities to share where you’re at, what you need, and whatever questions or ideas are bubbling up. and in case you can’t make it, these sessions are recorded and available for you to enjoy at your leisure — along with a digital community for sharing your work, celebrating your wins, and requesting support or cheerleading anytime you need it.

month by month, you’ll renew your relationship with your own creative spirit, and with the ongoing practices that support you. you'll expand your own capacity for imagination, ground more deeply into spiritual tools and rituals, and connect with other artists who share your values. you'll stop feeling guilty about imaginary deadlines and will start celebrating where you are, and where you want to go next. best of all, you’ll come alive again — through your art, and through your magic. and we’ll be with you every step of the way.

do i have to have a specific project in mind? is this an accountability space?

you do not need to have a specific project in mind to participate — this is more about deepening and supporting your relationship to creativity itself than it is to your productivity around a particular goal. people often generate beautiful things over the course of our time together, and there are opportunities for sharing, co-working, and accountability for those who want it, but they are entirely optional.

“I absolutely adore this group. The Grove has allowed me to release…perfection, and I'm slowly learning that working harder to work through my problems is rarely the answer. Best money I ever spent.” — Meredith

“I’m super shy and don’t usually talk at all, and The Grove has been a safe space to practice speaking up more. Now I’m sharing work in a writing workshop!” — Kelly

what if i'm really burned out? can the grove help?

yes, it can. the grove has space for your grief, your burnout, your exhaustion, your overwhelm, and whatever other big emotions or heavy experiences you're moving through. many people in this space are moving through a transition of some kind (having kids, moving house, changing jobs, shifting relationships, grieving losses, or taking sabbaticals, to name just a few real-life examples from our past cohorts) — and transitions often have a major impact on our creative lives. the grove can support you personally through these shifts, and can also empower you to explore creativity as the person you are today, rather than getting caught up in comparing yourself to who you used to be.

there are no expectations of hitting specific milestones in your creative projects in this space, though we love to cheer people on when they hit their goals! this is a gentle, warm, and supportive community that can encourage you to slow down, show yourself grace, and connect with your creative self using spiritual tools. your burnout is welcome here.

what if i can't make the live sessions? what if i hate discord?

we meet live on zoom at 2pm EST on the 1st and 15th of every month. these sessions are recorded and shared with the group, and it's extremely reasonable that you might miss a few sessions during our six months together. however, the heart of the grove really is the community — so if you know that these dates and times will not work for you the majority of the time, you might not get as much out of this experience.

in the same way, our private discord server is a space for 24/7 connection, support, cheerleading, laughter, and care. not everyone loves discord but we do encourage all participants to at least sign up and join the server to say hello.

“Perfect opportunity to bring creative and spiritual practice together. I enjoyed the pace of the [first] space so much that I wanted to do it again.”
— Lindsay

gifts from your creativity: a tarot spread for gathering inspiration. a gift of curiosity / a gift of insight / a gift of hope
