last call for river styx! is grief work for you?

river styx begins on friday, february 6th — and i've got answers to all of your questions about grief, grief work, and this program right here.

hello, friends. i’ve recently hosted AMAs in my private discord server, a free grief journaling event, and an open house for my upcoming ten-week grief program — and in talking with folks so much lately about collective and personal grief, the same questions or concerns consistently come up.

grief can be scary, which means grief work can also sound scary. but grief work can genuinely help us find more space, capacity, flexibility, joy, energy, focus, and hope on a daily basis — and can also help us take care of ourselves on the tough days, or when the news is particularly grim.

i’ve written about a number of these topics already, in the hopes of helping you better understand what grief is, what grief work is, and how tarot can help support grief work. and whether you’re considering joining my ten-week community grief program or are just trying to find some simple ways to take care of yourself these days, i hope these resources help.

this email is also your last call for river styx — thursday february 5th is the final day to sign up, and the first lesson will hit inboxes on february 6th. if you're still trying to decide, or want to learn more about grief and grief work in general, check out the links below.

the top three questions i’ve gotten most when talking to people about their grief, and grief work, in no particular order:

what do you mean, we’re all grieving? what are you talking about?
what if i’m so overwhelmed by the world i can hardly see straight?
what if my grief scares me? what if it's too big to manage?

and some additional questions that you might have:

why does grief work matter, and what does tarot have to do with it?
how can grief work help me? will i feel better if i do it?
what does grief work look like if you live with depression, trauma, or mental health challenges?
how can tarot help us see our grief more clearly?
what if hope feels out of reach? can grief work help me feel hopeful again?
why do you care so much about grief work, meg? what has it done for you?

if you have more specific questions about my river styx program itself, check out the sales page which includes an FAQ at the bottom. you can also send me an email at 3am.tarot@gmail.com if you're trying to decide if this program is a good fit for you specifically — i'd be happy to chat with you and help you figure it out, with absolutely no pressure.

and if you're like me and use your tarot cards to help you assess whether or not something is for you, i made an updated graphic for this tarot spread from a few years ago that can absolutely help:

is this thing for me? a tarot spread for making choices. a potential result or change this thing could bring / an unexpected truth this thing could reveal / something else to keep in mind

thank you, sincerely, for reading my work, sharing my spreads, and caring so deeply for this world. i know that grief can be a lot to think about, but i'm so grateful for your grief, because it tells me that you still care, that you're still paying attention, that your heart is still soft and tender and compassionate.

i'm glad you're here, and i hope to see you in river styx too.
