january 2026 spreads for all

i've got some new tarot spreads for your everyday — and some big announcements for engaging with your grief.
spreads for all

hello, friends. today, as with every month, i've got a batch of new tarot spreads for everyone to utilize and enjoy. but before we get to the spreads, an announcement —

my long-anticipated ten-week grief container, river styx, is finally on its way.

based on the incredible ten-step framework created by good grief network's laura schmidt and aimee lewis reau (which i'm using with permission after completing their FLOW grief facilitation training program back in 2024), river styx is a ten-week tarot journaling and reflection series that will transform your relationship to grief, expand your resilience, and increase your tolerance for discomfort and uncertainty. packed with questions, prompts, spreads, and opportunities for community connection, this program will help you learn to listen to your grief, learn from your grief, and live with your grief — instead of feeling like you're drowning in it.

river styx officially begins on february 6th, with the doors opening for enrollment on january 26th. over the next few weeks i'll be sharing a few bonus essays (packed with reflection questions and tarot exercises) right here through my newsletter, and i'm also hosting a completely free virtual tarot journaling event on january 26th that you can sign up for right now.

this program is so dear to my heart, and has been a very long time coming. it also feels wildly relevant and important right now. if grief has felt heavy on your heart, if you're finding it difficult to live within the polycrisis of intersecting catastrophes, if you'd love to use tarot to care for yourself and your beloveds, then let's traverse the river of grief together.

now, onto today's spreads for all.

back in december, i shared four new tarot spreads that were inspired by requests from members of my wonderful private discord server. but there were so many beautiful ideas offered that i'm doing the same thing for january, and continuing to build spreads off of these ideas. thank you all for your brilliance!

daily gratitude: a tarot spread for appreciating your reality. a tangible thing you have / an abstract thing you have

daily gratitude: a tarot spread for appreciating your reality. do you find gratitude practices annoying but also helpful? this quick two-card spread can help you appreciate what's right in front of you.

card one / a tangible thing you have: something physical, visible, tactile, or otherwise concrete that you have
card two / an abstract thing you have: something intangible, invisible, metaphysical, or otherwise non-tactile that you have

dream work: a tarot spread for finding the lessons in your dreams. something to pay attention to / something to not worry about

dream work: a tarot spread for finding the lessons in your dreams. if your dreams tend to confound or confuse you, or if you want to use tarot to gently start exploring the meanings of those dreams, this spread can help.

card one / something to pay attention to: a detail, moment, insight, truth, idea, suggestion, or revelation from the dream that is worth noting and exploring
card two / something to not worry about: something within the dream that isn't actually true, important, real, or worth fretting over

transmuting desire: a tarot spread for shifting your focus. a desire to release / a desire to pursue / something to ease the transition

transmuting desire: a tarot spread for shifting your focus. have you been spinning your wheels trying to get something that you're tired of chasing? this spread can help you start shifting your energy into a new pursuit.

card one / a desire to release: something you've been longing for or obsessing over for a long time; something to set to the side
card two / a desire to pursue: something else you want or another shape for this desire to take; something to put your energy into
card three / something to ease the transition: something you can do to show yourself kindness, grace, or gentleness; a way to take care of yourself

give and take: a tarot spread for holding on and letting go. something to cling to / something to set free

give and take: a tarot spread for holding on and letting go. especially as we shift from a nine year to a one year — what to carry forward, and what to release?

card one / something to cling to: something worthy of your care and energy; something to bring forward; something to protect and invest in
card two / something to set free: something to release; something to surrender; something to let slip away; something to trust in

in addition to these free tarot spreads, i also want to remind you that i've been posting a lot of grief-related spreads (and some heated rivalry spreads too!) over on instagram and tumblr, with plenty more to come. later this week i'll be sending out a new spread based on the ace of cups to bronze and gold paid subscribers, and don't forget that my big numerology piece for 2026 also includes two new tarot spreads. busy month!

thanks for being here, friends. more soon, and in the meantime, stay brave, stay connected, and stay compassionate.
