from planting to harvest: the grove is back.

hello, dear friends. a quick THANK YOU for all of the generous words and wonderful enthusiasm now that my second book tarot spreads is out in the world! it's been backordered on bookshop.org since earlier this week (!) so if you haven't gotten a chance to pick up a copy yet, i highly recommend checking your local bookshops and/or local library first. and remember that reviews on goodreads and amazon are hugely helpful in the early days of a book's release!

at the beginning of this year, i teamed up with brilliant astrologer and author jeanna kadlec (who also happens to be my wife) to open up a six-month creative devotion container that invites spiritual practice into artistic ritual. we wanted to create a space that fostered deep, long-term community, while encouraging people to deepen their own relationships with their creativity, spiritual practice, and sense of self.

it's been an incredible success. here's what one returning participant has to share about her experience in our spring/summer cohort:

"When The Grove was first announced, it felt to me like a lifeline. I joined with the intention of creating new art for a show I wanted to have this year. I had to set my work aside several months before when my dad’s cancer diagnosis changed, and I didn’t have the capacity to focus on this project I so badly wanted to bring to life. Having a space like The Grove to help me stay focused and grounded in creativity and spiritual connection sounded like just what I needed to be able to get back to my art.

What I didn’t know, was that participating in this community would send me on a side quest away from what I thought I needed to be doing. Through the conversations during monthly kickoff calls and within the Discord community, I realized that I had some other work to do before I could get back to my art. I leaned into grief work through tarot (thanks to Meg's amazing spreads), and dug deeper into my chart (thanks to Jeanna’s brilliant astrology conversations). I started to learn watercolor for the joy of it. And I shared what I was exploring through all of it within the community.

My dad died a couple months into The Grove, and I know without a doubt that being in this community helped me stay connected to my heart and hope during a very difficult time. And I also know that because I went on that side quest, I was able to begin to build a solid connection to my spiritual and creative practices that do not have to be tied to “work.” And also, I was eventually able to make new art for a show because I had built up practices that supported me in making the art my heart needed. So grateful to this community for supporting this creative wildling through these past months!"

this first transformative grove session followed seasonal shifts from spring to summer in the northern hemisphere, from first planting to first harvest. and now, here in the heat of july, we are already anticipating the autumn — and opening up the grove for its second chapter.

the grove: six months of collective creative devotion

if you're feeling disconnected from your creative spirit, if you're eager to explore and expand alongside fellow artists and dreamers, if you're craving a more substantial connection between your creative and spiritual selves — the grove is for you.

beginning in september, we'll gather for twice-monthly live sessions to discuss our theme for the month, share insights and projects, explore journaling prompts, and use tarot and astrology to deepen our creative practices. along with live sessions (which are always recorded), we'll also send out asynchronous conversations, exercises, and other tools you can use on your own time — and grove members get access to a 24/7 discord server where they can connect and share all month long.

"Everyone is so generous and so wise. I always feel so seen, heard, inspired afterwards and I love being part of this community of like minded folks interested in understanding the spiritual underpinnings of their creativity. The things I like best are sharing experiences, hearing about other people's process, and understanding more about astrology and tarot as it relates individually and generally.

Meg and Jeanna are such kind, thoughtful, smart guides! One last thing: it's been so helpful to acknowledge the realities of living with chronic illness, or auto immune conditions, or just general hyper-sensitivity/not feeling well — I feel very validated after years of feeling pathetic or weak for being so physically affected by everything. Thank you!!"

the grove is one of the most nourishing, satisfying, inspiring projects i've ever been a part of, and i am so excited to be opening up our second cohort to new and returning members. our autumn to winter container will continue to follow the seasonal shifts of the northern hemisphere, connecting natural rhythms to creative cycles through tarot, astrology, and spiritual practice:

september 2025: harvest / distribution & assessment
october 2025: farmer’s market / comparison & competition
november 2025: rot & compost
december 2025: communal exchange & holiday
january 2026: the dark midwinter
february 2026: slow waking

over the course of these six months together, we will move from joyful harvest to dark midwinter, honoring cycles not only of growth but also of rot, rest, and recovery: and we'll do it all through the magic of communal spaces, authentic care, and deep compassion.

we'll be sharing additional info and testimonials on our newsletters and instagram pages, but if you have immediate questions that aren't answered by the grove webpage, feel free to email me — i'd be happy to help you figure out if the grove is a good fit.

more soon and thanks for being here!
