august 2025: spreads for all

hello, friends. today is the one month anniversary for my second book, tarot spreads! i have been getting so much lovely feedback and it's been such a joy to see folks digging more deeply into questions, creating spreads of their own, and talking about what it means to really get vulnerable with our tarot cards. remember that if you've snagged a copy already and love it, even a short review on amazon or goodreads goes such a long way towards helping other folks find my work. thank you for your kindness and enthusiasm, truly!
our tarot spreads for this month are all about making art, staying connected, and also letting ourselves be messy and imperfect and human. this world is impossibly heavy and hard, which means that beauty and curiosity and love and discovery are more important than ever. this is not the time to judge yourself for wanting creative outlets or needing support in your spiritual and devotional practices — it's instead the time to remember that you are a person surviving in a broken world, and the things you love and value and care about can literally keep you connected to your personal magic.
this is a time for making art, even if it's bad, because it's coming from us (preferably without the "help" of shitty plagiarism robots). this is a time for trying things, for stretching and straining, for seeing what happens and not letting the fear of failure hold us back. this is a time for gratitude and graciousness, for letting people and things be imperfect and loving them anyway. and this is a time for remembering who the fuck we are, and staying devoted to the things that truly matter to us.
yes, it's incredibly important that we fight and organize and protest and invest in systems of care — and it's also important that we balance those efforts with play and rest and pleasure and expression, wherever we can find it. no one can only give to others — we also have to give to ourselves, and these tarot spreads can help.

make the bad art: a tarot spread for expressing yourself, even if it's weird
card one / a rule to break: what old restriction is worth pushing past? which rule can you stop following? how could playful expansion offer you something new?
card two / a risk to take: where can you push yourself? what opportunity or challenge is beckoning?

what if you tried it? a tarot spread for taking big swings
card one / a place to push yourself: what area of your life would benefit from you taking a chance or trying something different? where might a risk pay off?
card two / an expectation to release: what fear or hope or goal might be getting in your way and preventing you from experimenting? where might your mindset be too narrow?

bless this mess: a tarot spread for embracing joyful imperfection
card one / somewhere to lean in: what is worth embracing, celebrating, engaging with more deeply? where is joy or satisfaction or excitement within reach?
card two / somewhere to ease up: what might need less of your energy or attention? what can you let go of, or put less effort into?

don't forget yourself: a tarot spread for remembering who you are
card one / something you value: what deeply matters to you? what value helps to shape your actions and choices? how do your values impact the ways that you live?
card two / something you offer: what do you have to give? in what ways do you inspire, encourage, support, excite, or strengthen the people around you? what is a lovely thing that you offer to the people around you, without even trying?
i sincerely hope that these tarot spreads offer you some joy, encouragement, support, and reminders to take care of yourself this month. remember that if you're looking for more ongoing support in your tarot practice, i have a few different memberships and upcoming containers that might be a good fit:
