a spread for pulling cards in an uncertain world

umbrella with rain pouring down on it

hello, friends. at the top of this month i shared a lengthy essay on the importance of ritual, slowing down, and showing ourselves compassion in this complex, challenging, messy world of ours. amidst the calls to action and preparations for what the new year may bring, i also really want to encourage you to find ways to intentionally, consistently check back in with yourself: to slow down, to breathe deeply, to stay engaged with your emotions instead of just numbing out, and to keep sharing your needs and dreams with others.

as i discussed in the latest CALL YOUR COVEN episode on collective readings, i have a feeling that we're going to see a lot more generalized card readings and spiritual advice out there in the months and years to come — so having a personal connection with the cards, and knowing how to trust your own intuition more broadly, will be increasingly important.

but! a number of you have expressed to me how much you're struggling to stay engaged with your tarot rituals and routines, and how much you miss being able to work with your cards in an accessible way — so many of you, in fact, that i decided to create something to help. i've written a new pair of mini books to walk you through building (and adjusting) gentle, personal rituals for reading cards, rituals that reflect what you could use most in the moment. inspired by the children's classic, i'm calling them goodnight tarot and good morning tarot.

i wanted to give y'all a supportive sneak preview, so the following tarot spread is one featured in both mini books! it's a spread that i hope will offer you some deep compassion and care right now, and help you begin to think about what a personal tarot ritual might look like for you, whether you're trying to build one for the first time or get back into the habit of regular personal readings.

the workbooks will be made available next week as part of my upcoming five days of offerings series, but if you'd like a separate notification when they're ready for purchase, join the waitlist.
